On September 14–18th, 2011 the 19th Congress of the International society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) was held in the capital of Alaska, in Anchorage. At the Congress, Georgia was represented by the “Talizi” delegation on behalf of its director, Akaki Tsilosani and the manager of the training program Salome Vadachkoria. The 450 delegates represented at the Congress had the opportunity to hear more than 150 reports devoted to the pressing questions of modern transplantology of hair during the four day program.
Between May 13 and 15, 2011, Istanbul hosted the regional congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), led by the famous transplantologist, Melike Kulahci. The congress examined the latest research in the field, including, the current and future potential for the creation of artificial follicles, and the use of extracellular matrices and a-cells. However the main theme of the Congress was the seamless method of hair transplantation – the FUE method, a subject of great interest for Talizi.
The congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery – Haircon 2010 took place in India at the beginning of September, 2010. The head physician of Talizi hair transplant center, Dr. Akaki Tsilosani took part as guest of honor and cochairman of the event.
A first of its kind operation was carried out at Talizi hair transplant center in October, 2010. It was unique in terms of the volume of hair transplanted, and because of the combination of methodologies used during the operation.
An unprecedented 4200 grafts were successfully transplanted, restoring the hair of a 39-year old patient from France. The grafts were extracted from the occipital zone and from various parts of the body by the seamless FUE technique.
Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, director of Talizi hair transplant center, Vazha Vadachkoria, head surgeon at the clinic, and surgeon’s assistant Salome Vadachkoria all took part in the 18th annual scientific congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The event took place in Boston, USA, on October 20–24th, 2010.
On June 25–27, 2010 the regional congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) took place under the chairmanship of the famous Thai surgeon, Damkerng Pathomvanich. The congress was held in Bangkok and was attended by famous hair transplantologists from Asia and across the world. Attendees included: Sanjiv Vasa (India), Kenicharo Imagava (Japan), Bertam Ng (Hong Kong), Tom Hwan (Korea), Akaky Tsilosani (Georgia) and others.
Delegation from Talizi hair transplant center took part in the Annual Scientific Meeting of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) on July 22–26, 2009 in Amsterdam. ISHRS annual meetings are generally held in America. Meeting in Amsterdam in this format for hair transplant surgeons was held for the second time.
The live video surgery workshop took place during a conference in Rome organized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The program was varied and interesting, with guests representing countries from all across the globe.
Before the 20 surgeries streamed live across the world there was a set of lively discussions.
The international seminar sought to provide a forum for the exchange of practice between surgeon-transplantologists from Europe, Asia and America. Owing to fact that the seminar took place on the Asian continent, and that the issue is yet to receive adequate attention, We presented a report on “The specifications of hair transplantation in Asian patients”, based on observations made in Talizi in recent years. |
