Hair transplantation at female type of baldness

Female hair loss character is rather different from male. As a rule, hair loss at women is expressed in thinning of hair on the whole surface of a head, while with men - on top. There are three degrees of hair loss at women (see Ludwig's classification). The majority of women subjected to hair loss are connected to the first class of Ludwig classification.

Ludwig classification
Androgenic alopecia - Ludwig classification

Women consider that loss of hair is a consequence of a wrong diet or stress, and often blame them for it. Surprisingly women as well as men are exposed to androgenic alopecia. But there are also other reasons of female hair loss:

Androgenetic alopecia - hereditary type of hair loss at which typical diffusive decimation of hair is observed on all central area of a head. With women this type is probable during hormonal reorganizations, i.e., at use of contraceptive means, after a child birth, during the climacteric period or after it.

Telogen effluvium - a condition when hair drop out from the whole head; this disease at the women  is subject to loss of hair, can be as chronic as well as owing to stress, for example, after a heat, because of deficiency of useful and nutritious meal, and as in consequence of chronic loss of a plenty of blood during menstruation.

Alopecia areata - for not quite clear reasons of periodically repeating disease at which hair of a female or male drop out in large locks from skin of a head and eyebrows.

Diseases of a thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) at women also can be connected with hair loss. In that case hair drop out in locks or occur decimation of hair coverage on the scalp.

Periodical loss of hair at women can be provoked with such hormonal stress like pregnancy.

Traction alopecia - constant hard tightening of hair in “horse tail“ or in plaits for a long time can cause damage of hair and, as a consequence, going bald.

Chemical processing of hair, to be exact some chemicals used for dying and stacking of hair which are often abused by women, also can cause damages of a scalp and further hair loss.

Scar alopecia - a lot of various inflammatory conditions can cause loss of hair follicles.

Grafting of hair is shown and yields good results at women with androgenic type of hair loss (see a photo), that it is possible to define only during consultation. Besides hair transplantation is recommended both to men and women in case of closed posttraumatic or post burn scar. (See a photo from gallery).

In our clinic operations on restoration of hair with women suffering from different type of hair loss and at different stages are successfully conducted. The important factor which is marked by women during consultations in our clinic is the aesthetic part of procedure, namely the questions connected with undesirable scars which, in their opinion, can occur after operation of hair transplantation. Interventions in donor areas (including scale - with getting 2000 and more grafts) practically do not leave any scars. It means that the spot where hair was removed is unnoticeable even for the hairdressers of our patients. Growth of transplanted hair continues normally and the track of operation is practically unnoticeable for the people around.
